About Us – Gaming History

Began my gaming career with a Spectrum 128K with a built in tape player. Buying “Crash” magazine to get a free tape with 6 games each month (4 of which would actually load). At school, the BBC Micron reigned supreme and Martello Towers filled my thoughts. I was soon on my first PC, a 386 which I believe had 30mb of harddrive space, Windows was just an extra (it loaded into dos) and a EGA monitor (take that CGA fans). The fun I had in dos… c:/md games c:/cd games c:/games/outrun.exe
Soon I had a gameboy, the original kinda chunky kind that was a little heavy and hot after a while of playing Super Mario in one colour. Whilst obtaining better PC’s I missed out on the Nintendo, only to later buy the Super Nintendo (just for Mario Kart) and the Nintendo 64 (for Goldeneye). I was also given a Megadrive II ( I missed out on all the original consoles). My gaming history draws to a close. I finally obtained a Playstation 2 after 3 years of playing my roommates and I frequently gaze at the Playstation 3 from the outside of Gamestop. Now you will most likely find me playing online flash games, online downloaded free games, or browsing the classic pc games.

RedZeppelin

Red grew up during the dawn of video games, so he was infected with the video game virus at an early age.  The early arcade machines Space Invaders, Lunar Lander and Asteroids were most responsible for the infection, the latter taking up the bulk of Red’s weekly allowance one quarter at a time.

His first home console was the venerable Atari VCS (aka 2600).  From there he graduated to gaming on computers — first his beloved Atari 800 then later PCs.

Oddly enough, Red’s love affair with the 2600 was so strong that he wouldn’t take another console until the Sony Playstation came along.  From there he moved up to the PS2, then made the switch to the Xbox 360.

After a long string of MMORPGs (Star Wars Galaxies, City of Heroes, Guild Wars, World of Warcraft), Red finally gave up PC gaming because he couldn’t afford to keep upgrading his computer to meet the new games’ system requirements, so now he sticks with his 360, a Sony PSP, and a Nintendo DS.

Red’s favorite games are RPGs, sports titles, and shooters.
